12th Grade Students

“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” – Marie Curie
Using the skills developed in Tier 1 and Tier 2 students will develop a community-based project in which they will work as a team with other students and community members to initiate change within the community. Ideally this project this integrate with their future educational and employment goals and will assist them with networking as well as provide them with projects of interest to include on applications for employment or universities. They may also use this as part of a mentorship or apprenticeship program within the community.
Students will learn how to use SMART goals and implement them as they work on their GTY project. The use of SMART goals will benefit them in their immediate project as well as provide evidence to future employers of their ability to use these skills to complete a significant project.
Students will develop project management skills as they create and work with a team of students and community members, keep records, plan and carry out meetings, and oversee a project to completion to initiate change in the community.
