Parenting tweens and teens can feel like an emotional rollercoaster – but what if their “attitude” is actually just their unique personality emerging? At YOU Life Skills and Leadership Educational Foundation, we believe most parent-tween conflicts come from personality differences, not just defiance. Over six engaging sessions, participants will delve deep into the concept of “teenitude,” a term we use to describe the often-misunderstood emergence of tweens’ identities and personalities. Each week, we’ll explore different aspects of this critical developmental stage, equipping parents with practical strategies to turn conflict into connection.
- Discover the difference between Discover the difference between “teenitude” (self-leadership) and attitude (rebellion)
- Connect the pieces of the Personality Puzzle as you learn how identity and personality shape behavior
- Learn why tweens push our buttons (and how we push theirs)
- Cultivate empathy and connection instead of frustration
- Celebrate growth and look ahead with optimism
Parents, it’s time to enjoy the tween and teen years! This isn’t just about managing behavior; it’s about building meaningful relationships and preparing teens for a successful future.
